Wiremu's story 4 videos

Wiremu's journey of change

Wiremu is a 39-year-old Māori man from South Auckland, who now lives in Palmerston North. Throughout his childhood he experienced family violence at home, and as an adult has navigated homelessness, methamphetamine use, and the loss of his brother. He lived with violence until he decided enough was enough, and he reached out to Chris who runs a men’s group, which Wiremu continues to attend and support two years later. Now he channels his emotions and his journey through his music and his priority is making sure that his family is taken care of.
